about

One shared core. Many directions.

TangentByte is an umbrella software studio and product collective. We build, ship and maintain a growing family of digital tools, each released as its own product: “FeedKeeper by TangentByte”, and the ones that follow.

mission

Software that does one thing well, and keeps doing it.

Too much software tries to do everything. We'd rather build small, sharp tools that solve one real problem, then keep maintaining them long after launch.

The foundations are open: libraries, command-line tools and model weights anyone can read, use and improve. On top of them we build focused apps for everyday life, funded honestly through free packages, one-time licenses and fair freemium plans.

01Open-source foundations
Developer libraries, command-line tools and AI model weights, published in the open for anyone to use and build on.
02Consumer micro-apps
Small, focused apps that do one job well: distraction-blocking browser extensions, native macOS desktop companions and media utilities.
03Sustainable model
Free public packages, one-time licenses and freemium subscriptions, so the work stays maintained for the long run.

the logo

A tangent, eight bits and one byte.

The mark is a small diagram of how TangentByte works.

  1. 01 · The tangent

A line that touches the circle at exactly one point.

That's a tangent. Every TangentByte product branches off in its own direction.

  2. 02 · 8 bits

The circle is split into eight segments.

Eight segments, eight bits: one byte. Together they form the shared core every product grows from.

  3. 03 · The byte

The orange diamond is where they meet.

That's the byte: the one point where every product touches the shared core. And the orange underscore after the name? A terminal cursor.
